Early Morning Fatal MVC on the Salisbury Bypass

On May 19, 2024, at approximately 2:50 AM, the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Company, along with the Salisbury Fire Department and the Allen Fire Company, were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with rescue on the Salisbury Bypass. While en route, dispatch reported a two-vehicle head-on collision, with police on scene confirming entrapment.
Upon arrival, first responders found a two-vehicle accident with heavy entrapment. Tragically, two occupants were deceased upon arrival. Crews from Fruitland, Salisbury, and Allen worked swiftly to extricate two other occupants from the vehicles. One occupant was transported to the Tidal Health Trauma Center, and the other was airlifted by Trooper 4 to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD.
Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately three hours as the Maryland State Police Crash Team conducted their investigation.
